  • Mail Clients: Common Email Port and Issues

    Server Type Server Name Port
    POP3 pop.tennk12.net 110
    IMAP imap.tennk12.net 143
    SMTP smtp.tennk12.net 25 or 587
    POP3 with SSL secure.tennk12.net 995
    IMAP with SSL secure.tennk12.net 993
    SMTP with SSL secure.tennk12.net 465 or 587

If you are hosting email with us, the ports are the same but the servername may change based on your DNS settings.

there are 2 common mistakes when configuring email:

    1) the username provided should be the full email address (obie@tennk12.net)  not just the mailbox name (obie)

    2) outgoing mail requires authentication and most applications allow you to specified to "use the same as incoming"

  • Email System Notes.

ConnecTEN Email Customer: There will be routine maintenance on the tennk12.net email servers this Sunday.  There should be no impact to your email service during these activities.  We will be testing email functionality prior to the start of the school day on Monday, January 14, 2008 to ensure this.

At the same time this maintenance is occurring and in keeping with current security best practices, additional attachment types are being added to the inbound email block list.  These attachment types are listed  below.

  • Welcome to TennK12

A weblog (blog) is an online journal you can use to share thoughts, ideas, gripes, project status, or anything else you want. Blogs allow you to be a contributor rather than just a bystander.

Postings are arranged chronologically and can be categorized depending upon how the administrator has configured the system. You can view a post by clicking on the title from the home page where all users' posts are collectively shown. Once viewing a blog you can read other posts by that person or provide comments on postings.

Creating new posts is quick and easy. If you have the ability to post you should see a link (usually on the left) on your weblog's home page: new post. Clicking on this link takes you into your blogs administration pages for creating new posts.

If you don't have the ability to post, contact the site administrator and ask for your own blog.

    Happy Blogging!
